Homesteading Dreamaker Results

Dreamaker:

You are full of dreams and passions but possible debt, jobs, lack of funds and time have all kept you from moving forward into your dreams of homesteading and a life of self-sufficiency. You are stubborn, but that stubbornness will do you well when it comes to needing the grit to be a successful homesteader. You also have a very clear outline and vision of your future and how you want it to look but can easily get discouraged by lack of forward movement.

So, Dreamaker, what can you do to begin taking steps into your homesteading dreams?

How can you finally move forward with this dream?

Here are a few suggestions. If you would like to move forward with this dream, take this seriously. Your dreams will only take you as far as you put them.

So dream.

Dream big and deep and wide and in full color. 🙂

First off:

Eliminate Distractions

This will look different for each one of us but I have a feeling one thing popped into your mind when you read this. So, this week, work on weeding out that one distraction. And the next week, work on another one. You get the picture 🙂

Work on the most important task

For myself, I find it easy to get weighed down by a long to-do list. But many times I haven’t taken the time to figure out which task is the most important and which task will get me closer to my long-term goals. Write out your to-do list right now and then put the list in order of the most important task to the least. Work every day on the most important task.

Focus on your own work, your own life

With the advent of Facebook, came the desire and ability to keep up with anyone and everyone. But don’t forget about YOU. Don’t fear the dreams and desires that God has placed in your heart. Believe in yourself. This week, begin to trust yourself, trust that your life is important and that you can AND SHOULD focus on your life, and the dreams within.

Start where you are.

If you are surrounded by hi-rise buildings, or live in a cookie cutter neighborhood or in a house on the beach, start where you are. Plant your first garden in the corner, closet or balcony. Get rid of all the processed foods in your cupboards and learn to cook a good, home-cooked meal.  Pick one task to become more self-sustaining and do it now.

Get out of debt.

Debt will hold you back. You don’t want to move into your future with it strapped around your neck. Begin now to live within your means. Write down all your debt and begin the Dave Ramsey debt snow ball. Free yourself.

Your heritage is now. Don’t let your fears stop you from stepping forward.

See you in the next chapter of homesteading 🙂
